There are two main categories of charging connectors used for electric vehicles worldwide:

AC Charging Connectors: Used for Level 1 and Level 2 charging, these connectors come in two primary types.
DC Fast Charging Connectors: Used for high-power DC fast charging, there are two main types.

AC : Type 1 (J1772)

The most common AC connector in North America and Asia.

AC : Type 2 (Mennekes)

The standard AC connector in Europe and increasingly prevalent in other regions.

DC : CCS (Combined Charging System)

The most common DC fast charging connector globally, combining AC and DC charging capabilities in one unit.

DC : CHAdeMO

Primarily used by Japanese automakers like Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Our Service Overview

Our mission is to assist you in choosing the right EV charger type compatible with your specific vehicle.
You should know that some EV models come with adapter cables that allow them to connect to different connector types (limited use).
And normally the industry is working towards greater standardization, particularly in DC fast charging, to simplify future charging experiences.

EV Charger Compatibility 1

Each EV model has a designated charging port that accepts a specific connector type.

Charging stations display the connector type they offer (e.g., J1772, CCS).

Before attempting to charge, ensure your EV’s charging port matches the connector type available at the station.

Most Level 1 and Level 2 charging stations use the J1772 connector, offering some level of universal compatibility across most EVs. However, it’s always a good practice to check.

DC fast charging compatibility is more varied. CCS is becoming the more dominant standard, but CHAdeMO is still present in some regions and on specific car models.

I love the convenience of my electric car, but I was worried about finding compatible charging stations on the go. Then I discovered the J1772 from EV Morocco. This little adapter has been a lifesaver! It’s lightweight and compact, so I can easily keep it stored in my car without taking up much space. Now, I can confidently use charging stations that might not have the exact plug type for my car. The adapter feels sturdy and well-made, and it’s so easy to use – just plug it in and I’m good to go. Having this adapter gives me peace of mind on longer trips and unexpected detours. It’s a small investment that’s made a big difference in my EV ownership experience. I highly recommend it to any EV driver who wants the flexibility to charge anywhere.
